The world of smartphones is booming faster than ever. Gone are the days when people had wired landline phones at home. The whole process of picking up the receiver, dialing the numbers, and the dial tone at the other end seems like another era altogether. Well, it is not. Mobiles have gained popularity in recent times. Being a 90’s kid, I have been one of the prime witnesses of the astounding growth of smartphones.

Smartphones have two main parts – the software and the hardware. The world of its software has two main players, Android and iOS. Android is the operating system (OS) designed by Google and iOS, as the name signifies, is designed by Apple. You must have seen two factions of people, one who supports Android and the others who love iOS. The debate about which is better among the two is a never-ending one. Well, if you are planning to buy a new phone this year, then this blog will help you a tiny bit to understand which OS will suit you. Keep reading.

Similarities Between Android and iOS

Before venturing into the differences between the two OS, let’s first glance at the similarities between them. Both are digital entities and are bound to have overlaps. That’s logical right?

Right off the bat, the basic functionalities such as messaging, calling, video chat, browsing, voice commands, and others are the same in both. Gestures and touch-actions involved such as tapping, pinching, swiping, and more are the same as well. Both enjoy similar network features and bands. Both have their own set of privacy and other important settings. So, the crux of these operating systems is the same.

Is Android Better than iOS or Vice Versa?

Do I Choose Android or iOS?

In layman’s terms, if you want to use a phone that is extremely user firmly, has easier interfaces, easy to learn, understand, and navigate, then you should look at Android. If you need a safe ecosystem for your phone so that all your accounts and personal data are super-safe, then go for iOS.
